IMA’s history of medical records conversion dates as far back as the inception of the company, in 1979. Our earliest customers were the Neurology departments of nearly 400 hospital systems throughout the country. Back then, we specialized in microfilming continuous form EEG records and also providing certified destruction of the original documents. Today, we continue to serve many of the same hospitals, but the applications for our services have grown substantially.

Medical institutions have an endless need for our services. Patient financial records, medical histories, EOB’s, diagnostic test reports, etc…; all need to be stored in various formats and made available to specific users. This information grows on a daily basis and there are laws, such as HIPAA, that enforce special handling and retention of these records.

For major hospital systems and multi-office facilities, outsourcing makes sense. It saves money, leads to faster collections and insures compliance with records retention policies.
